- On a computer, go to the official NETGEAR Support / Download Center.
- Search for EX6200v2 and open the Downloads section.

Step 2: Connect Directly to the Extender
- Make sure the EX6200v2 is powered on with a solid Power LED.
- Connect a computer to the extender via WiFi (its extended SSID) or via Ethernet cable.
- Temporarily disable VPN or proxy software that might block access to the management page.

- Open a web browser and go to http://mywifiext.net or the extender’s IP (such as 192.168.1.254).
- Log in with your admin username and password (default is often admin / password unless changed).
Step 4: Upload the Firmware File
- Navigate to the Firmware Update or Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade section in the extender dashboard.

- Click Upload to start the firmware update.
Important: Do not unplug the extender, turn off your router, or close the browser while the firmware is uploading and installing.
Step 5: Wait for Reboot and Confirm Version
- Wait for the EX6200v2 to reboot; the Power LED will turn solid again when it is ready.
- Log back into the dashboard and confirm the new firmware version in the Status or Firmware page.
Step 6: Re-test WiFi
- Test WiFi in several rooms to ensure speeds and stability feel normal or improved.
- If new issues appear, perform a soft reset and verify the extender’s placement and your router’s WiFi settings.
